The freshness of air, the blossom of the fields and the narrow muddy roads occupied with cattle. This is the picture you get when yo think of any villages. Every frustrated or tired IT professional once in his life time must thought ... earn money for a while and then settle down in their own village or some peaceful place away from the busy city life. Here is one thing to think about it is - do villages still hold its charm, warmth and peacefulness. Does the ignorance of the village people has become a weapon for crime or is been misused for ones own benefits?
Recently i read an article regarding the current issues India is facing i.e. "Taliban of our very own". You may wonder now where does Taliban exists in India and how does it relate to villages. Before you start wondering... let me tell you that it exists in almost all villages of India which are located remotely and no one knows how things can go wrong terribly.
Here, villages have their own Government, Rules and Punishments (soo inhuman that we cant imagine). which is called as 'Khap Panchayat' where Caste plays a major role. They take the Law into their hands and neither Police nor Government dares to get its involvement here.
Marrying/eloping a lower caste with upper caste is a crime and it will cost their lives and also suffering to their entire family. Marrying a person belongs to same Gothram is again a big crime and this too will costs their lives. When i say it costs life ... its not just killing but its torturing worse way and then kill and when it comes to women its becomes more brutal and i cannot describe the crime scenarios i have read.
Just imagine ... watching cricket is a ban and no love marriages are allowed. Of course its a complete sin. Having a baby girl is a sinful and she will be killed immediately after her birth or even before .... which makes the sex ratio so terrible in those areas. And here we feel bad and thinks we don't have enough freedom if our parents asks us to do something which we don't feel like doing it.
After reading the article. i was left with various thoughts and thinking process but remained like many other people who feels bad about the wrong things going around and feels bad ...rather standing up and initiate the fight against it. Hope i can make it one day with enough courage.

When did you write a letter to someone last time ...?
Finally got my brother's new address just a week before rakhi so that i could mail him one atleast this time. Sometimes i make few things worse as i get them done at last moment. Expecting to be as greedy as i could ... that my parcel would reach in time and that too when i already made it too late.
Thought to go for some private couriers ... so i inquiry about $$$$ (don't want to mention the name as they may sue me ;)) as they said it will cost me around 1200 bugs and mind you its just a minimum charge (possibly they assumed me as an NRI or what :P haha). I was surprised that just to send a 60 grms parcel which contained just two feathery weighted rakhi's , a greeting card and 3 bookmarks ...altogether which cost me not even 100 bugs. The shock was so strong that i didn't mind to query about other private couriers. Given up and convinced myself that i would send it with my aunt sometime end of the month. But then thought of our own government post office.
There was a long queue for the speed post. As a part there was no other queue other than that. After like 2 hrs or so i got my turn. Mean while was thinking about how we made letter writing extinct especially after the mobile phones and internet conquered our lives . The feel of getting a letter from someone or receiving a greeting card (not an e-card definitely) is lost somewhere. I remember my last letter was to my grandfather when i was in school. Thats the last one.
I asked the person how much it would charge me to send this parcel. He weighted it and said - it will cost you around 500 bugs to send. Is that fine!! I was more than happy as it was half the rate what the private couriers offered me. Without a second thought i said its perfect. After a pause he said there is one more option which will cost me just Rs 80 but just that it would reach with delay of 2 days. I was so impressed as he was concerned to give options so that a common man would easily afford rather than scaring people and make them feel as its not your cup of coffee. So at last got it done.
Well from all the above ... the point is
- When did you write a letter to someone last time ?
- Have you ever visited a post office ?
- Did you ever received any letter or a greeting card ?
Ok ... don't think much ... just pick up the pen and start writing a letter to your friends, grandparents or make some pen friends ... if you don't have anyone then you can write one to me :)

Bowl Baby Bowl !!!
Well ...a million thanks to Omniscient for this event.
My comp organized the "Bowling Competition" to improve its employees physical activities as they saw them gaining so much weight possibly :P
When i first heard of it, thought atleast i could left the ball or not ... but I didn't know that i play Bowling so well (atleast within the present crowd :P).
Played for the first time and i tell you, when you are doing good and the crowd is with you, you get charged up and full ON. Was completely enjoying bowling (after all its too long time i played some sport) and at same time was full on as i was scoring good to win the competition. Here goes the Winners trophy.

There were 3 Rounds. First is knock-out round were i scored 129 points (the highest score in first round) and then Semi-finals where i scored 80 points and then the Finals where my score is 117. And atlast, we won the competition. We just won by 2 points and thats really was a tuff competition. Well i don't want to be so flaunted and selfish now :). Definitely without my team-members its not possible to win the Winners title.

Wheew ... oh don't ask whatz the side-effect after playing. Couldn't lift up my hand man :D .But still, its worth the pain.

Book Marks - Best from the Waste
Love to show off few "Book Marks" i have created (though i read any books hardly) :) Few are made from the clothing tags i got when i did shopping and few are someone's giftwrap cardboards.
I know, i am too good in recycling and reusing it :P . And ofcourse, stealed almost all the quotes on it from net ....haha.
Ohh btw, i gave my self punch line on the backside of it saying "Think Pure. By Pavani", so they are patent ;)

Mahabaleshwar Trip.
Well, Words falls small when it comes to describe about the Nature @ Mahabaleshwar. Nature is at its best. An amazing place to visit just before the rainy season. ie in june.
We left to Mahabaleshwar on Saturday morning ie Jun 16, 2007 around 9 am and came back to pune on sunday by around 10. (This tracking of dates is for me down the time, so you can ignore it :D). We were 7 of them me, amita, lavanya, prasanna, deba, sahu and mandeep. A great climate and undescribable beauty of nature. We were very lucky as there was no heavy rains. For all of us, it was a big treat to our eyes.
We covered almost all the places as we thought we might not come again to this place (the complete credit goes to Ami as she worked out so much on the places to see) but its worth watching infinite times. Mahabaleshwar got so many peak points to view that we had so many options to view the nature at different points.
-Wilson point ...which is the highest point of Mahabaleshwar. Its 4710 ft above sea level.
-Elphiston point....where we can view two beautiful valleys Koyna & savitri. This is one of the point i liked most.
-Echo Point .....shout to the best to get echo.
-Lodwick point ....this is one more point i liked most. The wind blowing and the views were really gr8.
-Panchgani.....its also good but a bit crowded.
-Elephant point....one more view to enjoy.
-Panchganga mandir..... where 5 rivers get together (savitri,venna,...etc i don't remember others)
-ShriShankar mandir....its beside Panchaganga mandir.
While coming back.... we visited I2IT too and refreshed all our old memories to alive.
First Girls Trip.
Proud to say that we made this trip on fly. We three Ami, Lavs and Me have planned to go Matheran which is a hill station falls near to mumbai. Woke up at 5 30 ish AM (for us its the only toughest task to make it work) and then took a train to reach the Neral station. Unfortunately there was no toy train working to reach Matheran.
Ami and Me trying to pull the toy train to make a move :D
So we walked all the way up.to admire the nature. I tell you, its worth taking the pain. We three were enjoying to our fullest as it was our first girl trip ever. Got to tell this, we also had a fight with the monkeys and lavs lost her bag to them. But anyways later we manage to get the stuff inside it. Sounds crazy and funny later but i tell you it was scary at that moment. After long walks and covering much of the places, we left to Ami's home.
The next day, we went to this wonderful temple called Ambernath Shiv temple which is some 5000 years old build by Pandavas. As you can see it looks amazing and antique. We freaked out there for a while discussing about its history.
Overall it was one of the amazing and unforgettable trip i had.

Coloring the faded to bright.
Well, Painting used to be my hobby when i was a kid. But slowly the Colors diminished from my life as i grow. Then recently, can say because of my frustration levels or the guilt for which i promised my company that i would gift a painting or the zeal for keeping my hobby still alive, i Colored the Though i though. So at a time came up with two shots.
Well, this one is vibrant and Colorful Nature. Many of my colleagues and friends loved it than the other. I choose all the bright Colors, as after all it was really long time i got the Colors to wave on canvas.
Though many of them got attracted to the Colorful one :) my personal liking goes to the Geetopadesam. (this took my hands to really bend hard).

The painting represents the "Geetopadesam" from epic MahaBharat. It took me like hours to put on the Attitude of Arjuna (as you can see he is with closed eyes which expresses the confidence). Well the point is 'the Geetopadesam' represents 'Teaching and Learning'. That is what Omniscient, my company meant to me.
Besides the wonderful feeling that i did something different from my routine, what matters is the self satisfaction and the time when you be yourself doing something without expecting anything back from it.

Hogenakkal falls

Rolling back to some 10 years, i and appu visited our cousin who lives in B'lore. In the entire trip, the only thing which i couldn't forget is the beautiful Hogenakkal falls. I believe it was my cousin nani's plan to visit this place and i really thank him for it now.
We traveled to the falls in a round shaped boat which was really scary as you feel like you are sitting on the floating water. Forgot to tell you btw, if you have seen Roja movie directed by ManiRatnam, you can see this amazing falls in the first song. Don't get amazed, its not my observation. Got to know this from the coxswain :) Hope to visit this place again.

The Friday Talk
Almost every Friday, we three i.e. Ami, Lavs and myself picks a random topic and we girls drill our brains and put our thoughts and opinions about it. Mostly leads to a debate but healthy one , as we all three are strong headed in our own opinions (possibly i would be the one who get convinced easily among the three :)). A pre-warning to the readers .... that don't beat up your heads and think much about what i have written ... but just enjoy the conversation if you can ;)
Just the above week, we saw a movie called "Milk" which speaks about the Gay relationships and their struggle for Rights. Personally i was really impressed by the movie and the way it was portraited. So we took the topic about Gays and their Rights.
Now each one got completely different views about it. Lavs was completely against it , Ami was neutral and i was supporting it.
We have touched almost all possible views in the world of why one would get the feeling of being a Gay or Lesbian . I was strongly holding a point as it is a human feeling. And being a science student, i put a point in front, that human feelings are aroused by the chemicals released in ones body and its completely natural. But Lavs too got a strong point as she said, as we are humans... we also got the ability to control the feelings and emotions. And then the big thinking brain i.e, Ami popped up with a statement that how can hen produce eggs without a cock. I know ... i can see a smile and eyebrows up on your face after reading things but ..... it might sound weird for you all but thats a really strong point. And we all were silent for a moment. :| And then we went back to some thousands years back where possibly it might happen that first homosexuality was been practiced and then our ancestors might found that heterosexuality would help in making and creating an all new life. So and then heterosexuality is been practiced and later and made legal. This discussion continued convincing each other and we concluded that in future, as to control the population... homosexuality might get encouraged and practiced. Who knows. But we all ended up saying that everything happens for a reason and Nature keeps everything balanced.

Have a Nice Journey
I was in Hyderabad for a small vacation and leaving to Pune by Hyd-Mumbai Express. Well, the day was already bad for me as i was leaving my home ... some nth time for my job. As usual the ticket didn't got confirmed and was in the waiting list. So we dropped a special request letter (so called MLA letter) to make it confirmed.
My dad accompanied me to give a send off that nite. The train was at 8:40 pm and it was already 8:30 pm. The reservation list was not yet out, so me and my dad continuously calling the railway inquiry holding the ticket to get my seat and compartment no. Finally we got the details and hurried to find the compartment to settle down. With a heavy heart, said bye to my dad and asked him to leave.
I got settled in my seat and busy observing other co-passengers. After an hour or so .... i thought of keeping my ticket in the first zip of my bag which i usually do. My bag already stuffed with some thousands of papers in it and other stuff. I first peaked my wallet for the ticket and couldn't found. Thought i must have kept in the bag, i dig my bag removing all my stuff. By the time i was already in sweat ...and that too in an AC comp. Damn ... its not happening to me.... no ... no god,.... and finally i ended up with the conclusion that i don't have my ticket with me. I immediately called my dad and asked to check whether he got the ticket or not. It was safe in his pocket.
Mean while, my co passengers got to know about it and were trying to give sympathy and providing me with unwanted suggestions.
Cursing my fate, took few suggestions from my dad to convince the TC and provide him a reason. The worse scenario was to pay the ticket price again. So i immediately checked my two wallets and a purse whether i was safe or not. And thank god for it as i ended up at the margin. I had exactly 700 bugs with me. Finally TT came and gave me a fine receipt and said 'Have a Nice Journey'. And i ended up traveling with a ticket costing twice the price of it.
